The Girls Not Brides Rajasthan State Partnership was officially launched in December 2018. It brings together over forty organisations, from community-based to international organisations, through to policy and advocacy and women and youth-led organisations.
Successes
Through members’ engagements and programmes on the ground, Girls Not BridesRajasthan is reaching around 50,000 youth, community members, elders and faith leaders with work to end child marriage.
In late 2018, Girls Not BridesRajasthan was one of the key partners in a series of Child Manifesto workshops, held at regional level and in Jaipur, where young people from across the State were represented. Young people contributed to a Child Manifesto for the State elections. The manifesto was shared with all the political parties and young people took the lead in organising advocacy events with party leaders to persuade them to include the issues in their party manifestos.
Structure
Girls Not Brides Rajasthan is run by an executive committee made up of a chair, two co-chairs and seven regional coordinators who represent all the seven administrative divisions of the State. It also has working groups covering three themes: youth engagement, advocacy and a rights-based approach to ending child marriage.
