Sisters-Council-Khwendo-Jirga.jpg

Based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Sister's Council is Pakistan's first all-female Jirga (tribal council). The Sister's Council intervenes in blood feuds to prevent the exchange of women, the sale of girls into marriage, and situations involving the trafficking of women. The Council also advocates for women's access to education and health care, and supports their right to vote.
