This report summarises findings from a consultation with young people in India to hear their views on a proposed increase in the age of marriage in the country. It is the result of a collaborative process led by a coalition of 96 civil society organisations, including Girls Not Brides. The consultation ensured that young people – those most affected by the proposed change – could be heard by the Government Task Force responsible for the review. Nearly 2,500 young participants (aged 12-25 years) from some of the most marginalised communities across 15 States in India shared their views on what they want from the government to truly build their voice, choice and agency.
