Early Marriage – A harmful traditional practice

Estimates prevalence of child marriage and seeks to understand the factors associated with child marriage and cohabitation. Presents differentials in child marriage rates according to socio-economic and demographic variables, characteristics of the union, and knowledge and access to sexual and reproductive health information and materials. Finds that girls married before 18 are less educated, have more children and are married to men who are significantly older.
