Cash or condition? Evidence from a cash transfer experiment

Evaluates a cash transfer experiment targeted at adolescent girls in Malawi. Finds that a conditional cash program for early adolescents that transitions into an unconditional cash tranfers for older teenagers would improve schooling outcomes while avoiding the adverse impacts of conditionality on teenage pregnancy and marriage.
