This report provides a useful analysis of the variance of child marriage at the sub regional level in Nepal. It shows that:
- overall 9% of boys and girls aged 10-19 are currently married: 4% of boys and 15% of girls
- rates are significantly higher in the Western Mountain, Mid-Western Hill, and Central Terai
areas
- child marriage is higher among poorer households and dowry is one of the main drivers in high prevalence areas
