Girls Not Brides announces the appointment of Ramin Shahzamani as Deputy Chair of its Board of Trustees
Girls Not Brides: The Global Partnership to End Child Marriage is delighted to announce the appointment of Ramin Shahzamani, as Deputy Chair of its Board of Trustees, effective December 16, 2024.
Ramin Shahzamani has a substantial track record in the humanitarian sector, having held numerous leadership roles at War Child and Plan International. His global leadership experience spans four continents and ten countries, including director-level roles in Zambia, Peru, D.R Congo, Colombia, Afghanistan and Holland. He has deep experience in scaling impact, in galvanising support and the governance of international organisations. All of significant relevance to Girls Not Brides.
Commenting on the appointment Girls Not Brides Chair, Dr Alaa Mubarit, said:
Ramin’s appointment further strengthens our Board as the organisation embarks on this next stage of Development in supporting our partners,deepening our engagement with national-level local communities and strengthening collective action to end child marriage. Reflecting on his appointment, Ramin Shahzamani commented:
