As Executive Associate, Katya supports the work of the Girls Not Brides CEO, serving as a link for her external and internal engagement. She liaises closely with the Board of Trustees and other teams, with a particular focus on supporting the donor engagement work of the CEO and the Development and Outreach Team.
Before joining Girls Not Brides, Katya undertook an internship with international child rights organisation Terre des Hommes in Brussels. She carried out research and provided administrative support around a range of child rights issues, including the war in Ukraine and child sexual abuse online.
She has a Law degree, with a focus on international and human rights law, and a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Democratisation. The title of her thesis was ‘I Do But I Don’t: The Effectiveness of the Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007 and Other Legislation Against Forced Marriage at Preventing Child Marriage in the UK.’
Katya speaks English, French, and some German.
