As Senior Regional Engagement and Advocacy Officer within the Africa Team, Fatou is responsible for regional advocacy, including supporting members for greater visibility at the regional and continental level. Fatou is based in Senegal and provides critical support to strengthening Girls Not Brides National Partnerships, coalitions and other networks and alliances at the national level.
Fatou has over 15 years of professional experience in the international development sector with a focus on health, education and social protection. Fatou graduated with a Masters of Art in Literature and a Masters of Science in Project Management and is trained in Donors Rules and Regulations and certified in Project Administration.
Prior to joining Girls Not Brides, she worked at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) and at PATH.
Fatou brings to Girls Not Brides a passion for gender equality, experience in regional advocacy and influencing. She is fluent in Wolof, French and English.
