As Senior Officer for Child Marriage and Education, Emma provides technical and advisory support to Girls Not Brides’ movement building and influencing work. She supports National/State Partnerships and coalitions to engage with strategic education sector actors and opportunities at national, regional and international level. She also supports capacity enhancement, learning and knowledge management processes for member organisations, capturing and disseminating promising practice and lessons learned, with a focus on strengthening collective advocacy for girls' right to education and an end to child marriage.
Emma has over 20 years of experience in international development. Before joining Girls Not Brides, she worked in the international education team at ActionAid, focusing on participatory methods, gender equality and the right to education.
Emma has an MA in Latin American Studies and a BA in Modern Languages. She speaks English, French, Spanish and some Portuguese.
