As Senior Officer for Partnership and Learning at Girls Not Brides, Emma works with regional teams to strengthen National Partnerships and Coalitions working on child marriage. She contributes to knowledge management processes, capturing and disseminating lessons learned and best practice, and facilitates effective learning between Girls Not Brides member organisations. Emma also leads on learning and the documentation of work to integrate child marriage in education sector policies and programmes.
Emma has over 20 years of experience in international development. Prior to joining Girls Not Brides, she worked in the international education team at ActionAid, focusing on participatory methods, gender equality and the right to education. She project managed a number of complex multi-country education projects and facilitated shared learning and capacity development for ActionAid and partner staff in over 25 countries.
Emma has an MA in Latin American Studies and a BA in Modern Languages. She speaks English, French, Spanish and some Portuguese.
