Child, early and forced marriage and the control of sexuality and reproduction

The control of sex and sexuality are at the heart of child, early and forced marriage. For many families, their daughter’s sexuality is a source of anxiety that results in many of the discriminatory practices and norms that girls face on a daily basis.

This brief argues that improving our understanding of sexuality and its social construction can help us better tackle child, early and forced marriage.

It gives examples of the types of programmes that address sexuality to end child, early and forced marriage.
