RESARU was created in 2005 in Northern Malawi to improve the living standards of people affected by poverty. RESARU also works to address harmful social and religious norms that promote violence against women and girls, including child marriage, as well as to raise the voices of women and girls, and advocate for their access to legal and sexual reproductive health services.
