Training for youth
Young people play an important role in the movement to end child marriage as powerful champions of change in their communities.
Our “Stand up, Speak out” youth activism training programme offers a series of workshops designed to mobilise young activists to take collective action to end child marriage. Co-created with youth and member organisations from across the world, it builds participants’ knowledge on child marriage and promotes youth-led community-building initiatives to address the issues that most impact them.
The programme comes as a package of two resources: a trainer manual, which helps activists, member organisations, civil society actors and donors organise trainings; and a participant guide for the young people joining the sessions.
In April 2021 we published a new edition of this manual, updated to strengthen youth leadership in addressing the different expressions of child marriage in Latin America and the Caribbean. This edition has a stronger focus on intersectionality and how to approach autonomy and sexualities. We also include sessions on emotional work.
