This commentary summarises the outcomes of an Expert Group Meeting organised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in December 2013 to discuss research priorities on ending child marriage and supporting married girls. The paper outlines research gaps and makes recommendations in five key areas of our knowledge about child marriage; prevalence and trends, causes and consequences, prevention and efforts to support married girls.
