Drawing on desk-based and field research, the report explores the dynamics between female genital mutilation / cutting (FGM/C) and early marriage by looking at the shared social drivers and some of the direct links between the two practices.
The report draws on these research findings and World Vision’s own experience of programming on these issues to highlight lessons that might be learned in designing more effective programme interventions and policies in relation to FGM/C and early marriage.
Finally, it makes a series of recommendations for further action to be taken in programming design and policy development.
