Child Marriage and Girls' Education in West and Central Africa Literature Review
Literature review focusing on girls’ education and child marriage and the impact of crises (including COVID-19) on adolescent girls in Francophone West Africa.
This literature review is comprised of recent publications focusing on girls’ education and child marriage and on the impact of crises (including COVID-19) on adolescent girls in Francophone West Africa. It was carried out as part our Education Out Loud funded project, which seeks to address the interlinked problems of child marriage and girls’ lack of access to quality education in countries in Francophone West Africa (especially Burkina Faso and Niger), which have some of the highest rates of child marriage and out-of-school girls.
