CARE Influencing of USAID’s Child Marriage Strategy

CARE has played a role in shaping the USAID roadmap for child marriage over the next decade. Through formative research, engagement in key platforms, and building key relationships, CARE was able to share learnings and expertise from its decade-long Tipping Point initiative. The USAID child marriage roadmap forms the foundation of a new child marriage strategy that USAID missions will follow when implementing child marriage programs worldwide.

This brief provides a top-line overview of the process undertaken by CARE to influence government strategy so this included a heightened focus on social norms change in child marriage programming.
