PHOTOS: Desmond Tutu and Mabel van Oranje visit Zambia to encourage end child marriage efforts

From 14 to 18 September 2014, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Mabel van Oranje visited Zambia to encourage efforts to end child marriage in a country where 42% of girls are married by 18.

At the conclusion of their visit, Archbishop Tutu said: “Everyone in Zambia has a role to play in ending this harmful practice – government, traditional and religious leaders, parents, NGOs, the media, and young people, especially girls. By working in partnership, I know that you can achieve great things.”
