As Communications Officer, Laura provides support with content creation, digital engagement and media relations across the organisation. She works closely with the rest of the communications team and wider external engagement directorate to help push child marriage up the global agenda and drive more support to our partners and their work with local communities.
Before joining Girls Not Brides in 2025, Laura worked on digital content for Rape Crisis England & Wales, where she led on the launch of the organisation’s 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line website. Prior to that, she spent 10 years working as a journalist, largely focusing on political, cultural and social issues in West Asia and North Africa. She has lived in the UK, the UAE, Lebanon and the Netherlands.
Laura is a passionate feminist and bookworm. Outside of Girls Not Brides, she is a trained yoga practitioner, with a particular interest in yoga in the context of social justice and collective care. She has a BA in Politics and Parliamentary Studies and an MA in Newspaper Journalism.
