Aiyanna Bucao
- Communications Officer
As Communications Officer, Aiyanna supports Girls Not Brides across a range of communications work, including storytelling, copy-writing, and content creation. She helps amplify the movement in all its diversity and contributes to shaping conversations around ending child marriage.
She brings experience from across the non-profit sector, where she has used storytelling to drive meaningful change. Her work focused on developing inclusive and ethical communications content across traditional media, social media, blogs, and campaigns.
Aiyanna previously worked in the media team at learning disability charity Mencap, where she supported powerful media moments across key campaigns, championing inclusive representation in the media. At communications charity IMIX, she supported capacity building in the refugee and migration sector, working on digital communications and national ambassador programmes. She helped efforts to shift the conversation around people making the UK their home, whether by chance or by choice.
She holds a BA in History and International Relations and an LLM in International Human Rights Law, and is especially passionate about gender justice.
In her spare time, Aiyanna enjoys reading and exploring new hobbies.
