Girls Not Brides UK became an official Girls Not Brides National Partnership in July 2014. Its members are working to end child marriage in the UK and globally. The members share learning and evidence, and work together to influence the UK government to ensure it continues to work to end child marriage.
Girls Not Brides UK has been instrumental in lobbying the UK Government to prioritise ending child marriage both within the UK and globally. It works with UK parliamentarians to raise this issue, and to generate political will and support to end child marriage.
Domestically, Girls Not Brides UK has been advocating since 2017 for the law to be changed to ban all marriages under the age of 18 within the UK and with extra-territorial reach for those habitually resident in the UK.
