As Senior Advocacy and Campaigns Officer, Georgiana leads the development and delivery of Girls Not Brides’ global advocacy and campaigns to end child marriage, in collaboration with teams based in Africa, Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean, member organisations and National Partnerships and coalitions. She is based in London.
Georgiana is a human rights and a gender justice activist, with a background in international politics. Before joining Girls Not Brides, Georgiana was Legal Associate at the Open Society Justice Initiative, using strategic litigation and advocacy to protect and advance human rights at domestic, regional and international level. Previously, she worked at the European Union's diplomatic service headquarters and in the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.
She is a passionate advocate for girls’ and women's rights and as the President of the Association for Liberty and Gender Equality in Romania, she has led the organisation’s policy and legal advocacy. Since 2022, she also serves on the Board of Women Deliver.
Georgiana holds an MPhil degree in International Relations and an MA degree in Social Science Research Methods.
