Child marriage in Latin America and the Caribbean

Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) has four countries among the most affected by child marriage globally. However, child marriage has yet to be recognised as a major issue in the region.

This brief highlights what we know: regional context, prevalence and trends, causes and consequences, and existing efforts to address child marriage in the region.
