  • Inspire: Celebrate progress to ensure more action and resources
  • Align: Agree on next steps to achieve our common strategic objectives
Attending

How can I attend?

There will be a call for applications to attend the Global Meeting at the end of November. Participation will be decided based on clear and transparent criteria set by the secretariat

Please consider including the costs of attending the Global Meeting in your planning for 2018. Girls Not Brides will have a limited budget to support the travel and accommodation costs of a small number of members selected.

Who will be there?

The vast majority of participants will be Girls Not Brides members – who are civil society organisations working together to end child marriage.

Recognising that some global events do not cater specifically to their needs, the Global Meeting will ensure a strong focus on youth-led and community-based organisations.

We will also invite policy-makers, technical experts, researchers, donors, and other key actors in the global movement to help foster collaboration across the board.

Programme

The programme will be developed in consultation with the International Planning Team, a group made up of members, researchers, advocates and other experts from the movement to end child marriage.

Members and partners will have the opportunity to propose topics, as well as full sessions. Look out for the following surveys:

  • On 20 September, take our survey on what should be the priority topics at the Global Meeting.
  • At the end of November, there will be an opportunity to submit proposals for sessions organised and led by members.

The final programme will be launched at the beginning of 2018.
